ˌfôrməˈlistik səˈvanə

My goal in this project was to photograph scenes that I’ve come across in my travels throughout Savannah and depict them in a formalistic manner. I invite you to drain yourselves of any conceptual or metaphorical ideas you might have about these images. Instead, pay attention to the actual content and more abstract elements such as texture, space, and form.

While I was shooting these assignments, I realized what I was actually attracted to in these sites. It is the relationship between organic and geometric forms. Their contradiction alone is enough for me to muse on.

All photos were shot with a Canon AE-1 on Tmax 400 film. Processing done by myself, negatives scanned and dusted in Photoshop.

Thanks for viewing.

AVIA Hotels Menu Shoot

Earlier this month, I was hired to photograph a revamped menu for AVIA Hotels. Cuisine at the AVIA contains all fresh ingredients, both international and local to the southern region (i.e. Georgia & South Carolina).

This is some really great food at a nice price. Enjoy.
